GMG Productions and Stoddart Entertainment Group bring a Mischief production of to Newcastle. It's the long running London comedy that won Olivier and Tony awards, and it plays like Monty Python having a very silly day in Victorian England. The Cornley Drama Society tries to stage a classic murder mystery and everything that can go wrong does go wrong — an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that refuses to play dead, and actors who trip over pretty much everything, including their lines. Critics have been kind about the chaos, with the New York Times calling it a gut busting hit and the New York Post simply advising you to go. This is the 10th anniversary tour, so expect well rehearsed mayhem.
The performance at 7.30 pm on Thursday 28 August will be Auslan interpreted, with Premium and A Reserve seats available in the Auslan section. The show contains haze, strobe effects, smoke, pyrotechnics, adult themes, violence and loud noises. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Running time is approximately 2 hours including interval. Times are approximate and subject to change. Contact the event organiser on 4929 1977.
