The Specialties are making a return appearance at Bartholomew's, for those who keep track of such things. This Sydney mob, hailing from the inner west, are apparently quite adept at blending blues, jazz, country funk, and soul. It sounds like a bit of a musical stew, but they've evidently managed to gather a fair bit of attention for their various musical talents over the years. They're not just making noise, in other words.

This five piece outfit is led by Wayne Rigby on the sax, a bloke who's probably graced more festival stages than your average Aussie has seen kangaroos. He's joined by Shannon Carswell on vocals, Shawn Supra on the double bass laying down those deep notes, Nic Lewis on lead guitar, and Willem Van Ekert keeping the whole show on track with the drums. Wayne also has a flute stashed away somewhere for when the mood strikes. So, if your feet start doing their own thing, you know why.
