My son is 6 yo and he had always been a strong will child. Nothing with him is easy.
He is a lovely boy, but he has his own mind already.
He got to the point where he doesn't accept we say "No".
So, if he wants to watch tv and I say no he has a big fit.
If he wants to buy a toy and I say "not now, it's not your birthday, or whatever. I get a big reaction. And I don't buy presents just because.
And believe me, he has heaps of toys, outside toys, instruments, and still not enough.
I have tried websites with parenting tips kits and books.
I have a psychologist therapist at the moment that helps me because I'm losing it.
We are on the behavior and reward chart. So he loses screen time when misbehaves.
The therapist said he is a strong will child that will try to measure his strengths with me, but I'm getting to the breakpoint. He has been like that since 2yo.
He nows kicks and hits me and misbehaves wherever we are.
I don't really care what people think about it. But I do care for my feelings. And I can not take it as not personal.
He is not the only child. He is the second. The oldest never did anything like that.
I'm feeling a failure today.
Any suggestions that I haven't tried yet, please.
