Bronwyn Douglass, a soprano who can really make a note sing, is giving a concert on August 8, 2025. She'll be taking on Richard Strauss's "," which are known for being a bit of a tear-jerker, and Maurice Ravel's Shéhérazade, which sounds like it belongs in a rather exotic film.

Ross Fiddes has fiddled about with the arrangements for these pieces, so they might sound a bit different to what you're used to. He's got some clever people from the Hourglass Ensemble joining in too. Apparently, Bronwyn's one of our homegrown opera talents, so if you're in or around Newcastle and fancy an evening of high notes and perhaps a chuckle or two, this might be worth a look.
