Australian pianist and storyteller Aura Go has been jamming with Finnish Aussie cellist Timo Veikko Valve, aka Tipi, for years as a duo, hitting stages across Australia and beyond. Shes also clocked up plenty of road time with flashy Australian violinist Kristian Winther.

Musica Viva Australia has them all together for this national tour stop in Newcastle, dishing up Beethoven's Piano Trio in D, the cheekily named Ghost, plus Ravel's properly turbulent take on the form. They round it out with a poignant little gem from Lili Boulanger, penned amid the gloom of World War I, and a fresh world premiere by Aussie composer Melody Etvs, whipped up specially for this trio of homegrown talents by Musica Viva. Its non smoking, and theres disabled access, though youll want to check with the operators for the specifics.
