Get ready, Newcastle, because the Sydney Dance Company is making a pit stop at the Civic Theatre on August 6, 2025, with their latest creation, momenta. The company's Artistic Director, Rafael Bonachela, has cooked up the choreography for this one, and it's all about how humans connect. Expect everything from gentle exchanges to what might feel like a beautifully organised physical storm, all delivered by dancers who probably don't know what a 'couch potato' is.

This show is meant to take you on a journey through human bonds, where individual paths somehow collide and intertwine. They've got the full kit and caboodle helping out: Nick Wales on the soundscapes, Elizabeth Gadsby designing the set, and Damien Cooper handling the lights, all working together to create a world of movement and feeling. It runs for a tidy 75 minutes without an interval, so plan your bladder breaks accordingly. Just a heads up, expect some flashy strobe lights and a bit of stage smoke.
