Are all baby sleep consultants the same? We don't think so... Meet Kristy from and learn how her first-hand experience, qualifications and approach could help your family.

Having lived through her own sleep journey with twins and engaging a sleep consultant herself, Kristy became fascinated with the science behind newborn and toddler sleep and development. So much so, that she is now a Certified Infant & Child Sleep Consultant and can help you and your family with any sleep issues!

There are many factors that contribute to sleep disruption. Some factors are medical conditions, allergies, feeding, awake times, sleep associations and regressions just to name a few. Another important factor is that our little one's actually need to learn to sleep, it does not just happen!

So, what does a sleep consultant do?

"As a sleep consultant I undertake a detailed sleep assessment looking at everything that is going on in your baby’s life and how it all comes together and impacts the way they sleep" says Kristy.

Kristy's Snug Bug approach looks at sleep hygiene, medical conditions and allergies (reflux/colic), feeding (milk and solids) what they are eating and when, routines, regressions, what is happening overnight and sleep associations that could be playing a part in the process.

"Sometimes sleep training techniques are a necessary piece of the puzzle to achieve desired goals."

From there, Kristy comes up with a plan addressing all of the above and make recommendations on sleep hygiene, feeding, routines and sleep associations together with techniques and strategies to achieve your desired goals.

"The best part of all is the one on one support, guidance and encouragement I provide during our time together. This support is crucial for success!'

What about "sleep training"?

When Kristy mention's “sleep training techniques”, this is only one part of her overall process.

"Sleep training does not mean leaving your baby to cry it out! Sleep training involves new routines and strategies, settling tools, new positive sleep associations, environmental factors and more. Whilst my personal philosophy as a sleep consultant is gentle sleep solutions, there is a broad spectrum of sleep training techniques from gentle no cry to cry based options", explains Kristy.
