Ever thought your pet deserves its own masterpiece but youre no Picasso. Grab a photo of your furry sidekick or a book featuring your top animal buddy and head to Newcastle City Library for a laid-back pet portrait session. Settle in with a popper in hand while you whip up a quirky version of that beloved cat, lizard or bird that probably rules your home anyway.

Its open to anyone from six years old right through to grown-ups, and for five bucks youll get all the painting gear you need. Bookings are a must since every artist needs a spot, and parents or carers are welcome to join the fun if they fancy getting their hands messy too.
