As the only inner city rowing club in Newcastle we are proud to host the Central Districts Rowing Sprint Championships on Throsby Creek. Local rowers from Newcastle and the Hunter Valley will compete against athletes travelling from the NSW mid-North Coast, Central Coast, and Sydney. The feature event is the Linwood Throsby Gift Relay, a race unique within the Australian rowing landscape being a relay event. With $1000 prize money at stake donated by Ann Sharkey & Associates, as well as the chance to win an historic trophy, this event is battled out fiercely by top athletes selected from each of the participating clubs. We are very grateful to have the support and sponsorship of the City of Newcastle as well as the Port of Newcastle, Port Waratah Coal Services and others, which enables us to host a large colourful one day event as part of the Throsby Creek, Linwood and Carrington Communitiy activities. All welcome to come and cheer the rowers on!
