The is a straightforward 2km ocean go from Nobbys lighthouse to Newcastle Beach. You kick off near that classic Aussie landmark and pull up on the sand at the other end, linking two cracking stretches of coast.

Sure there are swims with decent views, but this one has you paddling right past the lighthouse like its photobombing your every stroke, before dumping you onto Newcastle Beach. Just try not to get too mesmerised and forget which way is forward.
