, sponsored by Bonsoy, is the southern hemispheres monster surfing gathering where over 800 guys and gals from all corners paddle in for nine events spread across May and June, finishing up with the World Surf League Challenger Series from 9 to 15 March 2026. A solid crew of backers like Burton Automotive, the NSW Government, Destination NSW, City of Newcastle, Reflections Holidays, Newcastle Airport and a few more make sure it all happens without wiping out.

Expect comps such as the Mutual Bank High School Challenge, Sanbah Cadet Cup, Newcastle Pro Junior, Surfest Indigenous Classic, Evolution Charity Cup and the Bonsoy backed Challenger Series. Theres a bar, cafe, carpark, its family friendly with kiosks, no smoking allowed, public toilets, restaurant and they reckon pets are okay if you check first. Plus they go out of their way for people with access needs, so no ones left high and dry.
