Newcastle Comedy Club generally hosts its Saturday night showcase. It is their regular weekly event, featuring a different bunch of comedians each time. You can usually find a mix of local chuckle-mongers and a few who have travelled a bit to share their thoughts, or at least attempt to be amusing.

There are typically five or six different acts on the bill, meaning you get a decent variety of comedic approaches. It is a good chance to see who is about, and perhaps even catch an up-and-comer before they get too famous to remember the good old days. Just a heads-up, it is strictly for the eighteen-plus crowd.
