Come along to the Conservatorium of Music in Newcastle for a laid-back workshop diving into Korean traditional tunes, where you'll get to bang out some Pungmulnori rhythms that might just get your pulse racing faster than a flat white on a Monday morning, or hum along to the cheerful vibes of Minyo singing. Expect live demos that pull everyone in for a bit of group fun, whether you're picking up simple drumming beats and moves or trying your hand at learning a classic song, no rhythm required beyond what you've got naturally.
This one's open to anyone from kids to grandparents, as long as you've got a soft spot for music and a dash of cultural curiosity, previous skills not needed unless you count enthusiasm. Parking's a bit tight on the street, so check the City of Newcastle details to avoid circling like a lost tourist, and the Civic light rail stop is your easiest bet. The place is wheelchair friendly with accessible loos, but if you've got particular needs, drop an email to
[email protected]. See you there for a spot of Korean flair in our neck of the woods.
