Curated by Early Career Curator Elloise Ansell, Collect: Focus places emerging bodies of work into a professional collecting context, reframing experimentation as something rigorous and, yes, collectable. The exhibition is intentionally small and concentrated so artists can present a cohesive body of work and practise exhibition-making within The Lock-Up's atmospheric historical setting — imagine experimentation in a suit.

The project links early career artists with new audiences and collectors, quietly supporting artistic and career development and giving the Hunter Region's creative ecology a helpful nudge. Practical details: there is a bar, it is family friendly, non smoking, pet friendly if you check with the venue, a public toilet, and a shop and gift shop.
