Collect is The Lock Up's annual fundraising exhibition, on 4 June 2026 in Newcastle. More than a hundred emerging, mid career and established artists from Newcastle, the Hunter and beyond will be on show. Curated by early career curator Ella Grace Paterson, the event highlights a wide range of creative voices from the region and features work from The Lock Up's broader programme. Entry is free but bookings are required, because yes, people do turn up.

Each exhibiting artist contributes a work to be exhibited and sold, with proceeds supporting the not for profit independent art space. Pieces are available in the gallery and via The Lock Up's online shop from opening night. It's a chance for artists and collectors big and small to connect across many disciplines, so expect a mixed bag of serious, surprising and occasionally delightful work. Facilities include a bar, family friendly access, no smoking, pet friendly on enquiry, public toilets and a shop. Disabled access is available, contact the operator for details.
