Presented by BIG Live in association with United Airlines, is billed as Ballet At Its Darkest and arrives as a world premiere. Set to music by Tchaikovsky, Bach, Stravinsky and Rachmaninov, this retelling leans into desire, torment and immortality with plenty of atmosphere and dramatic dance. Choreographed by Joel Burke, the production features a cast made up largely of alumni from the Mariinsky Theatre, English National Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Australian Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet and more. Think precise partnering, moody lighting and a lead who is not a fan of sunrise.

Some practical notes: everyone aged 24 months and over must hold a valid paid ticket to enter the auditorium; if you will be bringing a child who is under 24 months on the day, contact the Ticket Office to arrange a Babe in Arms ticket. Running time is approximately 120 minutes including a 25 minute interval. The performance contains mature adult themes and depictions of violence that some audience members may find confronting and includes theatrical weapons, simulated fighting, synthetic theatrical blood and fog and haze effects. Production photography by Craig Ratcliffe.
