So, 10cc are making their way back towards Newcastle for a gig in 2025. They popped by in 2023 and apparently got everyone up and about, clapping and singing along to their rather large and eclectic collection of UK hits. These blokes are known for being quite inventive and influential in the pop world, managing to hit the rare trifecta of commercial, critical, and creative success. You'll likely hear all the crowd pleasers, including I'm Not In Love, which you might recall from a Marvel movie or a Bridget Jones flick, The Things We Do For Love, Rubber Bullets, and of course, Dreadlock Holiday. Good luck getting "I Don't Like Cricket" out of your head after that one.
A few fun facts about the band: they've shifted over 30 million albums globally, and I'm Not In Love has had more plays than you've had hot dinners, even reportedly messing with Axl Rose's life. Band mainstay Graham Gouldman, who also penned hits for other outfits like No Milk Today, puts their staying power down to not following trends, just writing what tickled their fancy. Music critics, going back to the 70s, have often marvelled at how much musical wizardry is packed into a single 10cc tune. Gouldman reckons the current lineup is top notch, promising a relentless barrage of hits with "no mercy". The show runs for about 110 minutes, with no break. If you're planning on bringing a very little one, under 24 months, you'll need to sort out a special "Babe in Arms" ticket.
